The Ashberry Guest House in Penrith is a hidden gem, just a short drive from the Lake District National Park. We were greeted warmly by the friendly staff who offered great recommendations for local dining options. the room was immaculate, well-appointed, and had a lovely bay window that let in plenty of natural light. the bed was incredibly comfortable and we had a restful night's sleep. The full English breakfast served in the morning was delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from including fresh fruit, cereal, and a tasty scrambled eggs and smoked salmon dish. We felt very well taken care of by the attentive hosts who were always ready to offer us more tea or coffee. the private parking was a definite plus, as it made exploring the surrounding area a breeze. The guest lounge with a gas fire and flat-screen TV was a cozy spot to relax after a day of sightseeing.
